David Orbell

In memory of David Andrew Orbell 15/5/56 - 11/12/10

David moved to Godmanchester in July 1981 with his wife Diana daughter Anita and son Nathan., having spent most of his childhood at Brampton.

Once settled he and Diana joined the Comrades Club and David their Darts Team.  He enjoyed playing with the team until he became too ill having been diagnosed with Cancer in July 2008.  David had always been hardworking in order to provide for his family, this often meant long hours including weekends.  However, he still found time to enjoy fishing and socialising with friends and family.

Tragically on the 26th of June 1996 Anita was taken from them in a car accident, somehow David, Diana and Nathan managed to get through this difficult time.  Slowly they managed to pick up the pieces.

David enjoyed gardening.   He also helped out at Huntingdon Gym where Nathan trained while he was still at school.  He was a support to Diana following an operation when he helped her doing her 'Avon' rounds earning himself the title of 'Best Avon Lady in Godmanchester'.

David had a unique style of dancing which was often seen at the Picnic in the Park.  Together Diana and David learnt Salsa,  the two of them showing off their skills at the their 30th wedding Anniversary party in 2007.

In more recent time he enjoyed spending time with his grand children Joshua and Sophie who brought him love and happiness at a time of uncertainty.  David fought his illness bravely but sadly lost his fight on December 11th 2010.
