GODMANCHESTER STIRLING - FLYPAST UPDATE
On Saturday, there will be a PRIVATE Dedication Ceremony, at which the Memorial stone will be unveiled. It will be attended by families of the crews and associated guests. To mark this day, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) had kindly agreed to Roger Leiver's request for a flypast of the Spitfire at 1440 along the Causeway as a unique tribute to the crew of The Godmanchester Stirling. However, the Spitfire will not be making this tribute, BUT - if engine tests go okay - the LANCASTER will make 3 passes along the Causeway at 1510. Sadly, if the tests fail, the BBMF will not be able to take part with this tribute.
